#Africa4Her 2017: How will you be bold for change? #YALiNetwork

Investing in women and girls is not only the right thing to do, it’s the smart thing to do. That’s because each action you take to increase a woman’s access to equal opportunities benefits your community, country, and continent.

Today, in honor of International Women’s Day we are excited to announce #Africa4Her 2017, a Network-wide initiative to raise awareness about the challenges women and girls face, and drive action to address them. Last year, over 20,000 Network members raised their hands and pledged to invest in women and girls. There is still much work to be done to achieve gender equality, so I invite you to make this year even more successful by joining them!

There are many ways to join #Africa4Her and start making change happen today:

  • Share this post on Facebook using #Africa4Her and tag women you think should be a part of the YALI Network.

  • Test your knowledge by taking our new quiz about the challenges women and girls face around the world and then make a pledge to be bold for change in your community. Once you complete the quiz you will receive a personalized badge via email. Share with your friends using hashtag #Africa4Her and tell them what you are planning on doing to invest in women and girls.

  • Visit yali.state.gov/4her to learn more about how you can be bold for change!

There are now more than 450,000 leaders in the YALI Network. Imagine the impact you could have if each one of you took an action to empower women and girls.
